Spain, Netherlands & Italy book Euro 2012 places after Tuesday's wins

The European trio won their respective matches and have all booked places in the European Championship next year.
Spain, Italy and the Netherlands have all sealed automatic qualification for Euro 2012 after winning their respective matches on Tuesday.
The current European and world champions were odds-on to beat Liechtenstein and confirmed their billing with a 6-0 mauling, with Alvaro Negredo and David Villa each bagging a brace.

Italy was made to work hard to beat Slovenia at home as a late Giampaolo Pazzini strike proved the difference, while the Netherlands saw Finland off 2-0 with goals from Kevin Strootman and Luuk de Jong.

With two games left to play, the Dutch have not yet secured the top spot in their group, but they have assured themselves of a place at Euro 2012, as they will finish at the very least as the best runner-up of the qualifiers.

The trio will join Germany, who secured qualification last Friday after beating Austria 6-2, and Euro 2012 hosts Poland and Ukraine in the list of teams who are already qualified for the showpiece event, which will take place from June 8 to July 1.

Croatia, Greece and England have booked their spots in the eight-team playoff regardless of results in the final two matchdays.
