Chelsea poised for double Madrid raid

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is being linked with a January move for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin - and could also be tempted by his unsettled team-mate Diego Forlan, according to reports in the Spanish press.

The 24 year-old Uruguayan centre-back would cost the Premier League champions around £15million and provide cover for captain John Terry and the injured Alex, who's expected to be out for at least another month.

Ancelotti has publicly expressed concern about the recent performances of Chelsea's defensive line during the dismal run that has seen Chelsea win just one out of their last nine league fixtures.

And the Italian will also be on red alert after Diego Forlan once again cast doubt bout his future by telling reporters, "I'm happy at Atletico, but I was happy at Villarreal and I left."
